Ingredients
Developed with Experts.
Backed by Research.
StressPaste was developed in collaboration with leading microbiologists, veterinarians and equine nutritionists to deliver targeted gut support, hydration and optimal muscle function.
Our formula is built on cutting-edge research into equine gut health and stress response. Each ingredient plays a crucial role in protecting the stomach and maintaining a horse's mental and physical wellbeing.
Supports beneficial gut bacteria during travel stress and reduced fibre intake from time off feed.
Acts as a stomach buffer to help prevent ulcers and provides magnesium, which is needed in higher amounts during stress.
Helps maintain hydration and supports gut health during heat and exercise-related stress.
Essential for appetite, energy production, and nervous system support during stressful periods.
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that protects muscles from oxidative stress caused by exercise and stress.
Vitamin C works with Vitamin E to combat free radicals. Supplementation supports optimal levels when natural production drops during stress.
Coats the stomach lining to protect against acid splash and also supports good gut bacteria.
Threonine, glutamine, proline, and serine aid gut lining repair and mucus production, promoting gut health during stress or time off feed.

FAQ
Stress affects horses in many ways while some signs can be subtle, more obvious ones include anxious behaviour. They stop eating. They stop drinking. Muscles tire faster, dehydration sets in, and energy levels drop.
Time off feed and heat stress throw gut health off balance, while oxidative stress strains muscles and organs. Anxiety kicks in, fueling the cycle. They stop eating. They stop drinking… and it continues.
Reducing stress isn’t just beneficial—it’s essential for your horse’s overall well-being, performance, and longevity. By making proactive choices, you can create a calmer, healthier environment that helps your horse thrive.
Stress Paste helps break this cycle, keeping horses eating, drinking, and feeling their best by supporting hydration, gut health, and muscle function when they need it most. Use Stress Paste before, during and after a stress event. For best results we recommend using it with our daily, foundation gut support, Digestive HP
No, Stress Paste does not sedate your horse. Stress Paste works by supporting the functions affected most by stressful events. By supporting gut health, hydration, and muscle recovery, Stress Paste helps horses stay comfortable, focused, and calm without dulling their responses.
Stress Paste provides buffering support from magnesium hydroxide and pectin for approximately 4 hours. If you give two doses within 24 hours, the remaining ingredients will continue working throughout that period. For optimal long-term hindgut support, we recommend using Digestive HP alongside Stress Paste.
Stress Paste is best used multiple times to help manage stress and maintain hydration before, during, and after competition. Here’s the recommended protocol:
- 1 full serving the Night Before Competition – to prepare the gut and support hydration.
- 1 full serving 30 minutes to an hour before the competitive event - to help maintain focus and gut comfort.
- 1 full serving the night after the competition - to support recovery and appetite
- For Multi-Day Events, you can provide ½ dose 2-3 times daily and can be timed 30 to 60 minutes before competition timing.
- Finally, if Your Horse Isn’t Eating or Drinking – Give a full dose to encourage appetite and hydration.
The serving size is 60 ml for horses over 850lb or 30 ml for horses under 850lb. This routine ensures your horse stays comfortable, performs at their best, and recovers well after competition.
While you may see similar benefits with these products, their intended usage is what makes Digestive HP and Stress Paste fundamentally different.
Digestive HP is the daily gut-health supplement that supports your horse through their day-to-day stressors, to keep them healthy, happy and performing at their best.
Available in both 10lb sachets and 40lb pails, the powdered form makes it ideal to mix with feed.
Stress Paste plays best in instances of acute stress, designed to deliver immediate gut and nervous system support in the face of high impact events including competition, travel and extreme weather. Stress Paste is also recommended when first starting Digestive HP to provide that extra buffer support at the very beginning.
Conveniently formulated in a concentrated paste, Stress Paste is easy to give ahead of known or predicted stressful events.
Yes, you can use more than one tube of Stress Paste per day in situations like prolonged travel, competition, illness, ulcer treatment, extreme weather, or endurance events. In extreme cases, use up to 1.5 tubes per day for horses under 400kg and up to 3 tubes per day for horses weighing above 400kg. (This serving rate should not exceed two consecutive weeks.)
Stress Paste can be used daily during periods of acute stress, such as travel, competition, illness, or recovery. If used for more than five days, it’s best to taper off gradually by reducing to a half dose for two days, then a quarter dose for four days to allow your horse’s natural vitamin C production to normalize.
Yes! Use ¼ dose for foals and ½ dose for weanlings. The recommended serving size is 60 ml for horses over 850 lb and 30 ml for horses under 850 lb.
No, for one-off use, the full dose should be given at once to achieve maximum effect. Splitting the dose is not necessary in these situations.
