Digestive K9 comes in a powder (with dog-approved deliciousness) that is added daily and mixed through your dog’s food. It’s been created using naturally-sourced ingredients, and evidence-based research to help all stages of your dog’s digestion.

Digestive K9 is super easy-to-use but with any changes in a dog's diet, we recommend to add it in gradually. New supplements and food should always be introduced slowly into your dog’s diet, as adding these new elements too quickly may cause digestive upsets.

We recommend starting your dog on a small pinch of the Digestive K9 powder sprinkled over and mixed into their food. Continue to increase this over time until you reach the recommended dosage rate for your dog’s size.

This is what gradual introduction looks like over a two week (14 day) period

Days 1 - 3: start with a small pinch, increase to 1/4 of the recommended daily dosage
Days 4 - 7: increase to 1/2 of the recommended daily dosage
Days 8 - 11: increase to 3/4 of the recommended daily dosage
Days 12 - 14: increase to the full recommended daily dosage

TIP: If you notice that your dog doesn’t seem to be enjoying their dinner as much when you're introducing the Digestive K9 powder, decrease the amount and increase the introduction period from 2 weeks to 4 weeks until you see a positive change. Most dogs will absolutely love Digestive K9, but it's a new taste and texture for them to get used to and sometimes their tummies need a little extra time to adjust!

Can I use Digestive K9 on a puppy? Pregnant/lactating bitch? Stud dog? Older dog?

Yes, yes, yes and YES! Gut health is so incredibly important, and getting your puppy’s digestive system working well right from the start will set him/her on a great path for a healthy life. Healthy parents (especially bitches) make for healthy, happy pups and supporting breeding dogs' health is of vital importance. However, it is never too late to start improving gut health, so older dogs can also benefit. We always recommend consulting with your veterinarian if you are unsure.

Can Digestive K9 be used for racing greyhounds?

Yes,absolutely, in fact; we recommend it! Gut health is widely known to increase performance and therefore may have some significant benefits to your racing dog. Digestive K9 does not contain any swabbable ingredients.

Can I feed Digestive K9 to my cat or other animals?

No. We have designed Digestive K9 to be specifically suited to dogs as our specially formulated fermented ingredient is derived from canine bacteria. All other ingredients included are safe to feed to cats, however, it is because of this specific ingredient that we would recommend against feeding it to your cat.

What should I feed my dog if they’re having Digestive K9?

Can I feed a joint supplement with Digestive K9?

Yes, absolutely you can feed a joint supplement in conjunction with Digestive K9. Be sure to read the ingredients list though, as you may find many of the ingredients listed on your joint supplement may also be in our product (eg. Green-Lipped Mussel is a common ingredient in joint supplements). Though Digestive K9 is primarily aimed at promoting good digestion and gut health, the active ingredients in it can have a whole range of other benefits, so you might not need to continue with additional supplements. 

Can I feed Digestive K9 when my dog is on medication or has an existing condition?

Though Digestive K9 is a very safe product, we recommend contacting your veterinarian if your dog is on medication to ensure it will not have any negative effects.

For dogs with existing conditions or who are on medication, we recommend consulting with your veterinarian before starting a new supplement. This includes, for example, dogs who:

• Are taking medication
• Have a blood coagulation disorder
• Have gallstones
• Have an allergy or food sensitivities
• Have a fever
• Are pregnant or nursing
• Have a stomach ulcer
• Have phenylketonuria
• Have an autoimmune disease
• Have a thyroid condition
• Have severe liver disease
• Have seizures
• Have severe behavioural disorders

What if my dog doesn’t like the taste of Digestive K9?

Our doggy friends tell us Digestive K9 tastes pretty great. We recommend mixing it through their regular food while they get used to the flavour. It’s easier to mix Digestive K9 into raw/wet foods than into dry food. If feeding dry, moisten it first with a little water and sprinkle the powder on top.

My dog is too fat/too skinny! Will Digestive K9 make my dog gain/lose weight?

A dog being overweight or underweight is largely due to an inappropriate diet/ration and/or lack of (or too much) exercise. We recommend having your dog’s diet and exercise routine checked by a veterinarian or dog nutritionist if you have any concerns.

Is Digestive K9 the same as Digestive EQ or other Poseidon products?

Though Digestive K9 and Digestive EQ are both aimed at promoting and improving digestive health, they have very different ingredients and modes of action. After all, horses and dogs have vastly different digestive systems and require completely different foods. We do not recommend feeding either to the other.

Can I ever stop using it?

You can safely stop using it if and when you choose, but keep in mind that without the gut support, pre-existing issues may reoccur.
